Inspired by a drawing I did more than 30 years ago back when I was a student, where, by portraying a tank with a syringe in place of the barrel, I summarized one of the plagues of the time: heroin.
A scourge that, just like war, killed many people from my generation.
That drawing was published in my first book Segni di Pelle in 1995.
The publisher had in fact given me only two months to finish that book (550 drawings), so I had to fish out old drawings from my archive to be able to handle the amount of work that awaited me.
Today I have reworked that idea, with a very different professionalism, thinking about the obsession with vaccines, the damage done by big Pharma worldwide and in particular about their economic and non-economic connections with the war industry.
The title is obviously a pun.
Starting from a composition done in 3D, I then proceeded to develop the drawing in Photoshop (Working process time lapse below).
