This caricature made for two dear friends was a genuine pleasure to work on.
They are a couple who teach Rockabilly Jive, a rock dance style born in the fifties. From there came the idea of placing them in a period hot rod with the iconic V8 badge on the radiator and wheels spinning as if warming up for a drag race.
Caricatures are something I enjoy, a sort of return to my roots. They remind me of the time when, still a student and just before becoming a full-time professional, I would pick up some extra cash doing caricatures at events and village fairs. Even if I don’t do them often, that line is now part of my DNA.
The print was made on an aluminium panel, making the gift even more original.
