The client’s initial idea was to do a biomechanical on his entire leg. A work that I would have done with great pleasure considering my passion for biomech, but unfortunately he changed his mind before our first appointment.
He provided me with an illustration (probably the setting for a video game) showing the entrance to a cave that had roughly the same structure and colours of the final piece.
Both for ethical and artistic reasons I always try to avoid “copy/paste”. So I reworked everything drawing it freehand on his leg before proceeding with the tattoo, reinterpreting the subject in my own way.
The skull carved above the cave entrance is an element that makes the tattoo even more interesting.
His passion for cold climates, the mountain and skulls is well represented here.
