I don’t consider myself a portrait artist, I rarely do copies of photographs and when it happens I have to admit that it’s less demanding to work on objects or animals rather than portraits, where it takes very little to compromise the similarity between the real person and the reproduction. I would have certainly preferred to work with a better picture, with better contrasts and a resolution higher than 72 dpi, but this was the only image the client had available.
Anyway, I think I did a pretty good job considering that this is the third black and white portrait I’ve ever done.
