During my guest spot in Norway, while chatting with the studio owner during a break, I asked him what had prompted him to invite me.

The request had come quite suddenly during the World Wide Tattoo Conference in London. During one of those three days packed with seminars, we found ourselves sitting next to each other, sharing opinions on the quality of the talks and various techniques. Out of the blue, he mentioned he owned a studio in Norway and would love to have me as a guest. Just like that, without even seeing my portfolio first. I gladly accepted.

Back to his reason: he told me he wanted a prominent name in his studio, as he had seen my name and my work in a local trade magazine, Scandinavian Tattoo Magazine, which had dedicated four pages to my art on the 2012 issue 118.

This is a pleasant and completely unexpected surprise that fills me with pride. Seeing one’s name on the cover doesn’t happen every day, even less so seeing my name alongside Tomo of Yellow Blaze, protégé of Shige, the undisputed master of modern Japanese traditional.

Today, thanks to the internet, you can end up in a magazine without even knowing it. These are pleasant discoveries 🙂
