A biomech tattoo, similar to a project I completed in 2016: Hell Roots, and once again, history has repeated itself.
Recurrences
This client, inspired by the movie Terminator, wanted something classic. If we were talking about software, we would call it obsolete, meaning that tattoos of this kind have been done countless times since the nineties.
Design
The project, done freehand, aimed to reproduce tears in the skin with mechanical parts emerging from them. The idea was to create a tear starting from the shoulder, wrapping around the arm, and reaching the inner forearm. It was clear to me that the result would be unbalanced, but the client was so convinced of his idea that he initially didn’t want to listen to my advice.
Advice Worth Listening To
Only after completing the first part of the tattoo did he realize that the chosen design left a feeling of emptiness on the outer arm. Luckily, he accepted my advice, allowing me to complete the tattoo with an addition that made it much more balanced and pleasing to the eye.
Process and Result
The realization took longer than expected, both due to the brevity of the sessions, mostly spent chatting 😅, and the time gap between sessions.
Below you can find images of the process and the final result two months after the last session.
