This hyper-technological samurai mask was initially designed as the foreground of a geisha holding a dagger in front of her face. The mask was just a reflection on the blade. But as much as the original design was very enjoyable, it didn’t have the desired effect on skin. So, after much consideration, the client decided to occupy the upper arm with this mask, leaving the geisha out. A highly detailed piece that required time and patience to define every single element, including the small tribal patterns set into the metal surfaces.

Unfortunately the client lives far from the studio, so I didn’t get the chance to photograph the healed tattoo. The photo here was taken at the end of the last session. The tattoo also serves as a cover-up. See if you can find it 😀
