I had been thinking for a while about creating a satirical caricature featuring all, or nearly all, of Italy’s political figures. Over the past few days I finally made the time to do it, drawing on my full experience as an illustrator and comic artist for what turned out to be a major project: 20 characters in a single illustration roughly 70×70 cm.
I imagined these politicians dressed in sadomasochistic gear, a symbol of the fact that power is nothing more than an orgy in which everyone is ready to screw everyone else, starting with the public. The cucumber each one is holding needs no explanation. It’s what they’re dying to use on us, and we all know how.
